Overview
This Privacy Policy describes how the Salah & Wellness Break Chrome Extension ("the Extension", "we", "our") handles your information. The Extension was built to help Muslims combine daily prayer times with short wellness breaks — stretching, posture resets, and breathing exercises.
We are committed to protecting your privacy. This extension is designed with a privacy-first approach: your data stays on your device, and we do not operate any servers or databases that store your personal information.
Data We Collect
The Extension collects only what is strictly necessary to function:

We do not collect: your name, email, browsing history, visited URLs, IP address, device identifiers, or any analytics data.
How Your Data Is Used
Your data is used exclusively to operate the Extension's core features:
City coordinates are sent to the Aladhan.com prayer times API and Nominatim geocoding API once per day to retrieve your local prayer schedule. These are public, open-source APIs that do not require registration and do not track users.
Prayer times are cached locally on your device for the current day so the Extension does not need to make repeated API calls.
Preferences (language, notification style) are saved locally so the Extension remembers your settings between sessions.
Local Storage
All data is stored using Chrome's built-in chrome.storage.local API, which saves data directly to your browser on your device. This data:
— Is accessible only to this Extension, not to websites or other extensions
— Is never synced to Google's servers (we do not use chrome.storage.sync)
— Can be deleted at any time by removing the Extension from Chrome
— Is automatically cleared if you uninstall the Extension
Third-Party APIs
The Extension communicates with two external services:

These services are used via standard HTTPS requests. We have no control over their individual privacy practices. Both are widely used, community-oriented services with no known user-tracking behaviour. No authentication tokens or API keys that could be linked to you are sent.
Chrome Permissions
The Extension requests the following Chrome permissions, each used strictly as described:

| tabs | Query the active tab to determine where to show the overlay. |
Children's Privacy
This Extension does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13. The Extension does not require account creation or any form of personal data submission, making it safe for users of all ages.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by updating the effective date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
Continued use of the Extension after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. As this Extension collects no personal data, changes are unlikely to affect your privacy in any meaningful way.
